Figures revealed in a reply to a parliamentary question by Aontu's Peader Tobín show that the execution of deportation orders is reducing dramatically. In April 2024, 21 people were deported from the state. Of that figure 14 were voluntary returns, 1 an EU return and 6 enforced deportations. To put this in context, in 2019 there were 653 deportations, with 298 of those being enforced deportations. It would appear that as the national crisis of mass immigration continues, the Irish government is doing nothing to address failed applications.
